Guitar Guy

I've been a music fan for as long as I can remember, and I probably started making noise before I ever thought of it as “playing.” As a kid, I spent plenty of time banging on the family piano, and by the time I was about 14 or 15, I had picked up guitar and never really looked back. I've owned several guitars over the years, both acoustic and electric, but I've always been especially drawn to Martin acoustics — that's the sound and feel I keep coming back to. I've also had a few other instruments cross my path, like a mandolin and a ukulele, and I fiddled with them a bit, though I never did take up the fiddle.

These days, I'm mostly a fingerstyle player on acoustic, which fits my quiet, easy-going style pretty well. I still like to plug in my Fender Stage amp and let the American Stratocaster speak for itself every now and then, and I've also got a Telecaster clone painted like the Texas flag that I call the Texacaster. I've only owned a few electrics over the years, including a Les Paul, but each one has had its own personality. And as for singing, well, those who know me probably expect something mellow — and those who've heard me sing usually want another drink.

I have not hit records, but I did create some music to play while I work. It turned out to be a lot of work, so I only made about an hour, and I work more than an hour a day. It sounds nothing like you'd hear me play in person. It is just sounds to code by.
